Fashion Must-have Spring/Summer 2014 – Butterflies
Butterflies are ruling the fashion world this season! From accessories to shoes, attire to makeup, butterfly trend has caught on and turned into a must-have for your wardrobe for summer and spring 2014. Butterflies are marvelous creatures, and different hues of colors in their beautiful wings have surely inspired fashion enthusiasts. Also, butterflies signify grace, serenity and beauty, and their movement from flower to flower signifies freedom. Fashion trends inspired by butterflies also reflect similar values. Along with inspiration for prints, it has brought bright and bold colors to the runway and a given playful and joyous vibe to spring and summer fashion trends.
This is not the first time the butterfly has become an inspiration for others. Mariah Carey, an iconic singer and song writer, gave her studio album the title ‘Butterfly’. Her 6th studio album, Mariah Carey was witnessing a transition in her work and life when she was writing songs for the album. Today, designers are incorporating butterflies in different ways in their designs. Butterfly ruled the runway in Spring/Summer 2014 Paris Fashion Week. Designer Jean Paul Gaultier recreated butterfly flutter with seductive lingerie in silk. Burlesque diva, Dita Von Teese walked down the runway for Jean Paul Gaultier in a butterfly shaped corset and set hearts fluttering. Another model in the show walked down the ramp in Gaultier outfit and butterfly-themed headpiece made in the same hues as the dress. Designer Alexis Mabille presented whimsical flowing bridal dresses in a room filled with paper butterflies. Paper butterflies were also used as headpieces and styling by various designers for spring 2014. Vanessa Bruno, the renowned French designer, also showcased her butterfly-inspired ready-to-wear collection for spring/summer 2014 during Paris Fashion Week.
